The Island of Scorched Rock is home to an environment that can be described as ‘the best of both worlds’ when referring to the Ashfall Wastes and Viridian Labyrinth. The soil surrounding the active volcano, Kuula, was highly fertile and rich with nutrients, easily birthing an expansive tropical forest that took over 75% of the island. The remaining 15% can be seen in the small fiery magma pools and vents just off to the south-eastern side of Kuula, as well as the black-sand beaches rimming it, and a massive forge set deep into a volcanic crater at the island’s edge.
A small collection of nondescript, unclaimed islands can be seen from the southern shore, but these are of little interest to the main island’s inhabitants.
As can be expected, the lush verdant jungles are home to an enormous variety of wildlife. Mimicking the Rainsong Jungle in many ways, Pardas, King Pardas, Manticore variants, reptiles, and an unbelievably large collection of birds and insects call this paradise home. With great beauty comes great danger, however, as the fearsome likes of the Goldenbeast and the Overcharged Silverbeast can be seen through the tangled vines and mossy trees.
