Life on the Island
|
This is a Clan that places great importance on productivity. While they likely haven't set out to impress the Stormcatcher with their efficiency, the general mindset of the island-dwellers is that idle claws tend to cause mischief. This isn't to say you cannot enjoy leisure time, it has more to do with becoming a burden to your Clanmates when you show an unwillingness to pitch in or contribute to the island's well-being in some way. Even if it's the simple task of chasing curious lizards away from the lava nesting pools, the most mundane tasks are appreciated. As long as you understand the basic rule of 'asking something for nothing will get you nothing', you'll do just fine.
U‘uku ka hana, ‘u‘uku ka loa‘a.
Little work, little gain. |

Job Roles and Division of Labor
‘A‘ohe hana nui ke alu ‘ia. No task is too big when shared by all.
Despite the heavy importance of playing your part, there isn't exactly a 'jobs fair' or 'jobs training' you can undertake besides becoming someone's apprentice, all islanders are expected to show initiative and find a way to be useful entirely on their own. No one's going to hold your hand, here. Trust, for these dragons, is earned, not given, and the fastest way to earn it is to display some sort of skill or handiness with smithing or agriculture, both of which are an important part of their economy.
